Ten Ton Slug plays riff-driven sludge metal laden with groove and doom. Since forming in 2014 in Connemara in the west of Ireland, the band have been relentlessly touring both the UK and Ireland, embarking on a number of self-organised tours throughout the British Isles and have been steadily gaining momentum and earning a reputation for both their live performances and work ethic.

Since playing Bloodstock 2016, Ten Ton Slug have secured a number of major support slots for international touring bands, most recently being hand picked as main support for Black Label Society on the three sold-out Irish dates of their European tour. 2017 saw the band support Crowbar for two Irish dates, and they have become a go-to support band for Irish promoters, sharing a stage with Planet of Zeus, Jinjer, Solstafir, Dread Sovereign, Ohhms,  Slabdragger and many more over the last few years leading to considerable interest from both management and labels.

2018 sees the band continue this trend, landing support slots with Conan and Full of Hell in Ireland in August and securing appearances at a number of international festivals; playing Manor Fest with Memoriam and Evile in the UK in May, Amplified festival in July alongside Therapy and many others and also landing a much-coveted slot at Metal Days 2018 in Slovenia. Bookings for 2019 are already lining up with the band already announced for Hammerfest in
Wales next March.

Four releases over the past three years; ‘Live at the Oaks’ in 2015, ‘Brutal Gluttonous Beast’ in 2016, a limited edition CD run of ‘Live at the Siege of Limerick’ in July 2017 which sold out in 24 hours, have all been extremely well received by both audiences and critics alike. Their most recent studio release ‘Blood and Slime’ released in October 2017 represented a step-up for the band and garnered excellent reviews in major music publications, leading to an ever-increasing fanbase and spurring the band to aim higher than ever and to work even harder to achieve it.

Ten Ton Slug are currently deep into the writing process for their next record, with a tentative release date of early 2019 and have their sights set high for 2019 and beyond.

The Slug is hungry.
The Slug shows no mercy.
